The National Literacy Agency is organising a Young Writers’ Club for children in Years 4 to 8. The Writing Club is intended for gifted children to develop further their writing skills, in both Maltese and English, by making use of the Writing Process.
The aim of the club is to support children in developing further their creative writing skills and to express their thoughts in writing. Children participating in this club must be proficient in both languages, Maltese and English. Parents, guardians, or grandparents will be invited to participate in some of the sessions with their children to learn how to support their child in developing their writing skills.
An exhibition and closure celebration will be organised during the final session of the club. A certificate of attendance will be given to those participants who attend 80% or more of the sessions and complete the course successfully.
Venue: National Curriculum Centre (NCC), Joseph Abela Scolaro Street, Ħamrun
When: 10 sessions → from 25th October 2018 to 31st January 2019
Schedule: October: 25; November: 8, 15, 22, 29; December: 6; January: 10, 17, 24, 31
Time: From 4.00p.m. to 6.00p.m.
Fee: €100 per child
Applications will be accepted until Monday 22nd October 2018. If there are not enough participants, the club may not be held. If the activity is oversubscribed, applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis.
