Paintings by students from Għargħur Primary School are currently on display in Valletta during the Żigużajg Art Festival for Children and Young People. The paintings form part of a visual art installation by renowned artist Austin Camilleri called “Solo i Bambini ci Salveranno”.
This installation engaged Malta’s entire primary school population with children aged five to ten showing their artistic talents in drawing and painting while collaborating with an established artist.
All the work has been individually digitised, printed and incorporated in a public installation. The individual expression of each child has been merged together to create an installation that occupies the city colourfully and peacefully.
The installation will be at Pjazza de Valletta for the whole run of the ŻiguŻajg festival from the 17th to the 23rd November 2014. This project is supported by the Valletta 2018 Foundation and Pillow Spaceframe.
