Maria Reġina College Għargħur Primary today launched its new website, gharghurprimary.com. The main objectives of the website are: showcasing the children’s work; strengthening the parent-educator relationship, and serving the Għargħur community as a hub for education-related information.
The website includes information about the Għargħur Primary and the Maria Reġina College, an updated calendar of school events, copies of the latest circulars and a portfolio style section showcasing the work of children from from Kindergarten 1 to Year 6. The website also includes a resource section where parents and teachers share teaching resources which can be used both in class and at home. This section is constantly being updated with new resources and links provided by parents and by teachers. Another section worth visiting is the Education Non-School Events page where one finds a list of educational kids-oriented activities that will be held in the coming weeks. This section is a dynamic one with new content being updated regularly with new information provided by parents and teachers.
This website is the fruit of hard work of a group of volunteers, webmaster Ruben Overend, a parent and member of the Għargħur Primary School Council, and Mr Heathcliff Schembri and Mr Aron Buttiegieg, teachers of Year 6 and Year 3 respectively. Together with the Head of School Ms Ben Portelli, and Assistant Head Ms Fiona Mifsud, the website management team looks forward to using this initiative to continue bridging the gap between parents, pupils and the school. We believe that when a healthy relationship exists between home and school, parents and educators value the expertise that each of them brings to the compelling life-work of educating children.
