Year 5 students from Għargħur Primary School have been rewarded for their contribution to the dementia sector, during the first edition of a national award dedicated to this condition which is on the increase. The School was rewarded for Exceptional Contribution in Dementia in the first edition of the National Award in the Dementia Sector.

Year 5 teacher, Ms. Marisa Pace explained that 28 students visited a home for the elderly and met with elderly inmates suffering from dementia. The teacher added that these initiatives help children to better understand the challenges brought on by this condition, which is becoming more common.
