Over 120 students deriving from the Maria Regina College met today at the Matthew Micallef St. John Athletic Stadium in Marsa for the ATQuadKids Intra College Meet-up – Phase 2.
During Phase 1, the School’s peripatetic PE Teacher, Mr. Edmund Mifsud has prepared all Year 4 students in the 4 (Quad) Athletic disciplines, namely;
- 60m flat Sprint
- 600m Long-run
- Standing Broad Jump
- Throw an 800g Javelin Training Ball
All class students have eventually been recognised for their maximal efforts made with a colourful certificate containing the best personal results achieved during practice.
Our school has been represented by seven talented children. Shifting from participation to a healthy competition has helped our students to achieve their current maximal outputs. This also serves as a great encouragement and initiative for all other school children who may be still evolving and developing their own athletic skills and a healthy lifestyle.
We will keep on working together to achieve each and everyone’s set goals.
School was represented by:
Kieran Vespa and Nicole Psaila in the 60m Sprint;
Antonio Overend and Thais Muscat in the 600m long-run,
Silvio Jake Aquilina and Eliza Buhagiar in the 800g Javelin Training Ball Throw and
Maria-Anna Mifsud in the Standing Broad Jump.
One should outline the remarkable results achieved by these students on individual basis and especially the 1st Places and qualifications attained by Maria-Anna Mifsud and SJ Pace in their respective disciplines. They will now compete at the SUPER ATQuadkids National Finals which will be held on Friday 21st of April 2017 at the Marsa Athletic Track and Field Grounds
